Hurst billet shifter question

I just pulled the trigger on a Hurst billet shifter for my 08 GT manual. It comes with adjustable gear stops, unlike, I think, the regular Hurst shifter. Anyone have one of these and know if these should be adjusted all the way out ? I thought I read somewhere that these adjustable stops were not good for our cars, but I could be wrong.
