Hurst competition shifter for 68 302 question?

Hi all,

I have come across a Hurst Competition Plus four speed shifter from a 1968 Mustang 390 GT toploader. I have no more information than that at the moment. Would that fit a 302 with what appears to be a standard ford box?

With the correct mounting plate it should work fine.
make sure you have the right linkage.

I may be wrong but the FE engines with toploaders had the shifter mounted in the middle of the tail housing and the small blocks are mounted in the rear of the tail housing.
