Forward locations for the leaf spring mounts which are shaped like a sideways "N" have been fabricated and welded onto the new rectangular box frame. Initial hand cleaning and sanding of entire body... outside, inside and underneath... has taken place. One coat of primer/sealer was applied and now a second round of hand sanding is being completed. Another coat of primer/sealer to the underneath should happen this week then silver paint will be applied.
Then the body can be rotated to it's normal upright position to allow work in the interior... installation of a roll cage and dashboard. Replacement of the inner rear wheel wells, install insulation for sound proofing in the door openings then cover with sheet metal, etc.
September 15 and 16 are Mexico's celebration of independence so the shop where I am working may be closed.

The project stalled in December with the coming of winter. The shop has no roof but only metal laminate over the work area to protect against rain.
Most of the metal fabrication work has been completed and the underside is coated in red plastic sealer. My Mexican nephew who is doing the work promised me he would complete the car in April.
