Is there an accurate method of determining if my axle dampeners should be replaced? There is presently no visable leakage, however I am noticing some wheel hop. What kind of resistance (foot lbs) should these give when new? 86GT:shrug:

Some aftermarket rear controls arms can help (making the quads unneeded if you desire to remove them).

If not, it seems to me that KYB sells new quads pretty cheap if you want to simply replace them. I have NOT used the aftermarket quads, so it's info only. I thought I came across some OEM quads for pretty cheap once somewhere (PPI maybe).

Good luck.

Autozone actually sells pretty decent quads made by Gabriel for $25 each. You need to order them through the store. They are listed as "steering dampener"

There isn't a set resistance, you just want resistance in and out. When shocks good bad they offer no or little resistance at all.
