Well the wife and I decided to go and spend a nice day together and when we come home we find my '06 taurus sitting in the driveway wrecked. Long story short my genius 16yo son decided to take dad's car for drive and wreck it !!!

the boys awsome driving job, yeah he is ready for a license.

I'm glad he is okay and nothing serious happend and no one else got hurt but he still has to survive me . The crappy part for now is I got easy 2-3 grand in damage and I'm not going to use my insurance since I'll get a surcharge and points. I can tell you he is going to work his living arse off and more for this one.
lesson learned lock your spare keys up!!! remove all temptation!! I'm getting a small safe or something and locking spare keys up.

This sucks. didn't need it. I'm pissed that's all .

Make him wait until he turns 18 and buys his own car, to get his license. He'll really suffer then. Any idea what he hit?

I'm considering that. He hit an old railroad underpass that is pretty much down the road from my house. The walls are made from rough granite blocks and it's a narrow pass through. He caught the curb and the part of the wall that sticks out. He said another car was come through and move to far over to the right and was going to fast fast amd miss judged..hmm no s##t .

Did you verify that info? You wouldn't want to be responsable for a hit and run.

Well at least it wasnt the Stang. I have done stupid stuff like that as a kid too. I wrecked my mothers GT vert when I was 14. I then wrecked my buddies moms Hyundai at 15.
The Stang was my fault, bald tires, fresh rain, too fast in a corner and planted it in a ditch.
The Hyundai wasnt my fault. I was messing with my friend in the passenger seat by making the car swerve in its lane, I had control and wasnt doing it wildly or anything. My buddy in the back seat decided he wanted more swaying and lept foreward and yanked the wheel right. We flew into a damn tree
The funny thing was, the entire passenger side of the car was destroyed but they didnt total it. I had to pay the repairs and it ended up costing me $730 for a new door, fender, wheel, both passenger windows and a paint job!
Man, wish my car was that cheap to fix!

He has a job at the moment working for DAD INC. and I'm going to work his hands raw. Then his little rump is getting a summer job doing anything and paying me back... bet on that. I dump all his dressers draws out on the floor, dump his closet and flipped his bed and told him to start here and I don't want to see a crumb on this floor when your done . when i run out of stuff for him to do if I do that is, I'll have him dig holes in the back yard and refill them I don't care. I'll make sure I sit in a lounge chair drinking a cold one and watch him though!!

It was an accident. **** happens. The car doesn't look that bad, stop being a dick and appollogize for turning his room upside down. Man some people need to grow the **** up, you only live once and one day you could be here and the next you could be gone. Not really sure why anyone would want to carry a burden on their back like that. I feel bad for your kid having you as a parent.

How old are you?

The accident wasnt the issue I would bet. If he had permission to use the car and wrecked it then thats one thing but if the car was taken WITHOUT permission and wrecked.... well thats a totally different thing.
Of course flipping the room was a bit much its a whole lot better then decking the son. I have no kids and my opinions may change but if I had a son that did that I would beat his ass!
Nobody ever beat mine as a teenager so I kept doing it over and over

How is this an accident? he took the car w/o permision. doesn't meet the defintion of accident to me. doesn't have a license either, so he wouldn't be allowed to just take the car. You don't deserve any further comment, you wouldn't process it anyway.
