i broke the connector for my throttle cable and throttle body

guys i have had the worst day. i have been fixing my car for hours now. i was replacing a gasket that goes between the throttle body and base.when i was putting the the throttle body back on its bolts, my friend managed to push the plastic and mess it up(he was helping me all day) well now the throttle cable is seperate from the throttle body. the part that was broken was a little knob type thing that was on a small black box, on the throttle cable. i managed to zip tie the throttle cable to the hinge on the lower part of the throttle body. i need a new little box any ideas on where to get one, and how to install it? PLEASE HELP I JHAVE HAD THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE

If it's something that can be removed without breaking it, then go to a junk yard and get another piece. If not, get a whole new throttle cable and replace it.

It sounds like he broke the tv cable connector. AOD's have this seperate cable which controls the shift points of the trans. I don't recommend driving the car at all because it is too risky. If the cable seperates from the throttle body while you are driving, stop immediately, because you could fry your trans. Even if the tv cable is just slightly out of range, then it could do some serious damage to the AOD if you drive the car. It would be a real good idea to get a new cable asap. I don't mean to alarm you, but it is the sad truth. Good luck.

wait so the little cable below the throttle body is for the tranny? besides the cable is fine, where it connects to the hinge below the throttle body is where it is zip tied. it looks like the new cables come with just a cable no hardware to connect it to the hinge. so i dont think a new cable is what i need

You aren't talking about the grommet that goes into the bottom of the throttle body that the cable snaps into are you? Was it round with a hole in the center? What color was the broken plastic? If it was the grommet, go to your local Ford dealer and get part # eoaz-7f330-a for a few bucks.

I think we all need a better description of what part actually broke. When you say, "little black box", are you talking about the TPS (throttle position sensor) on top of the throttle body???

Ah you broke yours too. LOL Mine was really hard to get into the new throttle body and I broke it trying to press it in too hard. What you broke is the little connector for the transmission TV cable for your automatic.

What i did to fix it, was to drill an very small hole into the connector, where the little nubbin broke off. Then I took a very small screw and threaded it into there. Then pull it out, put the screw through the hole in the throttle body and then thread it into the connector. It's been working for almost a year like that on my car now.

there is a small black box on the throttle cable that has little pegs, when he hit it the peg broke off. half way, and when we were taking the connector out of the hinge, another black plug type thing fell out, i couldnt find it. i think that biggeley hit it on the nail, i am not sure how to drill a screw into it. or what size screw. but basicallyyour knob broke off and you drilled a hoel for a screw instead of a knob? right biggeley. how hard was it and what did you use.. please keep helping guys. also i was wondering if it is safe for me to drive around right now or should i just let it sit til i fix it?
