I can turn my ignition and start the car without my keys

Yeah, I just found out my accident that I basicly don't need a key to start my car. I can just turn the ignition to whereever. How do I fix this? Do you think something is jammed in the key hole that would cause it to never lock? Or do I need to replace it?

There is a FREE recall on Ford ignition switches. They overheat and sometimes catch fire.

Copy down you VIN number and call the Ford dealer nearest you. Tell them you want to see if the ignition switch recall for Fords & Mustangs was done on your car. They will ask for the VIN number & check it against the master database. If it isn't in the datbase, then you can schedule an appointment to have the switch replaced for free. The TSB is #95S28, and don't let them tell you that they don't do that anymore...

I got it to work. I sprayed some WD-40 in it and messed around with the key then. It was dirty as hell, lots of black gunk came out. Works good as new now!

jrichker, I know some recalls were fixed on my car because I found some of the records in the glove box. I don't know what though. My fog lights work perfect, so that must be one of the fixed recalls lol.

shttygtstang, I don't think you need to know my address :rlaugh:
