I Didn't Know Cobras Came With A V6 Engine

Blah Blah Blah. Everyone spends money in one department or another to get what THEY want. If someone wants to look sweet. then they pay to look sweet. If someone wants to pay to go fast, then they do. If they want to dump down the cash to be authentic, that's what they do. You do what you have to do. I don't have eleventy bazillion dollars to go buy a real Roush Edition Cobraleen, because it doesn't exist. I'll just have to make it myself. If it makes you that happy knowing that your Roush is an actual Roush produced car, rock on. It would make me just as happy putting together what I want, how I want it, across a span of time to make it more economically viable. That's the beauty of owning a car that has such a vast aftermarket available to it. I agree that putting v6 badges on a 6 cylinder isn't the best thing in the world to do to a Mustang, but at least it's not just holes in the fenders sitting there, or some pirate edition TYPE ARRRR. Of course, this is just my opinion on that.

Now that's some funny ch1t!:rlaugh:

Now this makes me wonder what people think of my stang. It had all the Steeda appearance badging, rims, and vinyl when I bought it and it's not an Authentic Steeda edition... although it does have alot of Steeda performance mods already installed. I just liked the look of it with the Steeda badging. I didn't associate it to the likes of Cobra badging on a GT. I would never do something like that. Does this fall in the same catagory? Not that I'm going to go out and change anything. I'm just curious.

I see no problem with the Steeda badging since you have thier parts.

Not really. I'd be PISSED if I owned a really expensive saleen and saw all of the replica's. People pay big money for those cars. So why should people be able to say they have a "saleen" when they didn't have enough money to buy the REAL thing?:notnice:

You'd have to take your complaint to Saleen for selling its aftermarket parts to the Mustang GT public in the first place.

I understand your point about its so-called "limited edition" but from a practical point-of-view, if you add the suspension parts, body parts, wheels and tires, and minor marginal engine upgrades, you have a base model S-281.

I just saw a 01-02 black mustang last night with a cobra front bumper, cobra emblems, and V6 rear bumper and single exh. haha...plus the guy driving looked like he thought he was a badass which made it better.

I know. It's the same concept though. You mentioned that a Mustang GT with Steeda parts can be labeled and badged as a Steeda Mustang. That's just what I'm trying to say with the Saleen.

But I think thats a little different because like you said a regular 99-04 GT is not that different performance wise than the base model Saleen. This guy is taking the slowest production stang and trying to pass it off as the fastest!!! :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

I have to agree, you buy all the Steeda parts and you should be able to put Steeda badges. The Saleen I have mixed feelings. You can buy everything to make it identical but as Saleen points out he is not a tuner, he is car builder with all the regulations needed to build cars. If you buy only Saleen parts and do it right I guess its cool to badge it as such. But taking a GT or a V-6 Mustang and making it look like a Cobra is just wrong IMO. I dont see why people do that, when I used to hang with the import crowd these kids with Crapuras and Suck-2000's would always brag how they smoked a Cobra and when you find the car they were talking about it was always a base or no engine upgrade GT modded to look like a Cobra. Gives them false hope.
