Has 302 and C-4 tranny with 77,000 original miles for $995. Gonna try and use the drivetrain in my 65 6 banger stang. Anybody think this is a good deal? FYI, its a 4 door.

If you have the time, I think its an awesome idea. Get all new front suspension components, a 9 inch rear end......

I revise my original statement to if you have the time and money

Sounds like a decent deal though, if everything is mechanically sound. I'm not sure about the suspension components, they might be the same as in mustangs. I know a lot of stuff interchanges from the 60's

Wow this Galaxy has a 9 inch rear I think...

Rear end is 56 inchs wide approx, and had round casing at bottom, and the big hump for the ring gear in the back of the casing. I thought 9 inch rears only came behind big block motors?

I checked it out but didn`t get it

$995 sounded like a lot of money for just a motor and tranny, and thats all I could have used off it.

Unless it's got a Mexican 302 block, $995 is too much for a parts car. The rear won't fit a Stang, neither will any of the front suspension. A used high mileage flat tappet 302 and a C-4 can be had for less.
