$500 hadn't run in years

auto, 5 lug, v8, power steering, power brakes, disk front, drum rear, AC, coupe....

any idea if its a special model?

only the back brakes are working right now. Should I redo the stock ones or go for newer mustang calipers and all that jazz? How can I get the 2003 cobra brakes on there?

Congratulations :nice:

Going on that information there is no way to tell but I'd say probably not. COULD be a GT thought since it has discs (if they are original).

Since the Cobra is a Mac Strut you're probably not going to get them on there unless you're an engineer with access to a lathe. :D

The stock discs were good. I'd suggest you keep those and rebuild/replace the calipers and rotors along with all the lines and master cylinder. Brakes are the most important system on a car. If they don't stop you then that engine won't do you good for long now will it? :)

Anything special:
Well it does have some nice options jut like mine and it might be a GT but just these options will not make it a GT.
As for the breaks it appears to me that the after market breaks form SSB and some others are just a upgraded copy of what we have so I am planning on keeping mine maybe upgrading the rotors when I need to change them.
When working on the breaks on a 67 it is important to know what you have on there the 65/66 are the same other than the inlet hose” 3/8 (66) 7/16 (67) I think” so measure before buying hoses. And there was a change in 2/2/67 in the way the hard break lines ran.

Ps welcome to the insanity and the 67-coupe club :D :flag:

Congrats, and it sounds like you got a screaming deal on a well-optioned coupe (so long as it's not a swiss cheese-mobile). Coupes are where it's at, btw...don't let the fastback guys tell you different.

What size V8? 289? 390?

nice car.

it is not a GT though.. if it was GT it would have a 4spd.. it would have to be a GTA. But if it was a GTA you would know. it says GTA just about everywhere possible.

supposed to be 289 originally and have a 302 now. the exaust is annoying. Sounds like the pipes are too small. It has dual 2" exaust with glasspacks. I think its the type of glasspack that get smaller inside because dual 2" I would imagine would sound better. On my old '89 Firebird its only single 2.25" with a 305 v8 and sounded WAY better.

and its got a big motorcraft 2 barrel.
