I GOT ACCEPTED!!!11!!!1!!!1 =D

Congrats!!! That was my first choice... but sadly i didnt get in :(

yep man....very very expensive like my school.

Saw that you posted in the other thread....Use your hispanic genes to your advantage to get financial aid...thats what i did and my school costs just as much. Schools like this love diversity.

Stanford is quite an elite school. Notre Dame is no pushover either. Either one of those schools you need some brains to get into. Use the hell out of this opportunity. I'm sure you will if you busted your ass to get into there. :nice:

full ride as in my family contribution is $0 and mine is $666 per semester, the rest is paid for, and is renewable for four years as long as i stay within academic and financial restraints. academics ill find a way to maintain, financial, i dont think ill break $120k a year any time soon lol its just that im the first in family to attend any sort of university, i WAS gonna go military like West Point or the Citadel but i said "eff it, ill apply to stanford, see what happens."

EDIT: thanks crzyhrse :nice: im still waiting for Brown and Harvard on tuesday

right on, keep the grades up. Just remember it's less about reading and more about studying, if you read everything assigned in college you wouldn't be able to retain squat. Just study your ass of for every test no matter the size, and have others proof-read everything you write - TA's are what you're relying on and they don't like to correct grammer/sntax, professors just lecture.

hey man since you live in cali, was it any at all hard to pass emissions??? any tips on passing em, i guess if i go to stanford ill take my stang, but i dunno if itll pass emissions

PS are you attending UC Santa Clara????

yea good luck in cali for emissions...to be on the safe side, you're going to need that stock H.

I'm at Santa Clara University.... a smaller private jesuit university. Just dont get carried away with partying. lol
Although its fun being social, its hard to draw the line on where study time is needed...before you know it, you'll be everywhere doing things with everyone, shrugging off studying till 4am...espeically in cali in the bay area. Either way, the first 2 years are a learning/"break-in" experience i guess. :D

CobraRed_96_GT: so i should pay attention to TA's more than professors in terms of grading???

and im going to have to scavange yards for a stock H-pipe :nonono:

thx for all the comments yall :SNSign:

I'm only speaking from both community college and UC experience, but the TA's are who you need to figure out as far as grading. Often interjecting stuff explicitly from the prof's lecture helps, but the TA's are who grade your stuff. The hardest classes are the one's just big enough so that you have 2 diff TA's and not big enough so that you don't have sections (separate times where portions of class meet w/ ta's where the TA teaches for short time). W/out a section you don't really have an idea what they prefer or want, you have to go off of what the prof's expects - which isn't always what the TA does.
