Stick with 19 lb injectors unless you are doing a Heads/Cam/Intake combo on your 5.0 then go up to 24's? This is what most people said last time I started this thread...anyway here is my situation... My heads and intake are stock...I am upgrading to an e-303 cam...the mechanic doing the rebuild suggested 24's with rebuild and cam...I'm not sure if maybe he doesnt know that much about the efi on 5.0's or if the 24's will work...I am trusting his judgement so far but steer me in the right direction if you don't think this setup will work....I appreciate any suggestions

you could put 24# injectors on there now for the future if you put aftermarket heads and intake on there. just remember though you have to get a mass air meter that matches them or it will run like poo. ive got ported stock heads, cobra intake, tfs stage 1 cam with 1.7 rockers and 19# injectors and my car runs anything but lean

Your 19# injectors will be fine with just the cam swap. If you are doing more, move up to something a lot bigger like 30# so that you don't have to keep throwing your injectors away every time you take another step.

i really appreciate the suggestions guys...I think I will stick with the 24's then in case of upgrading in the future...as long as it won't affect the performance of the engine at all? ...and i am converting from sd to mass air so a MAF sensor calibrated for the 24's is definitely in order...

I make 277RWHP (~320FWHP) with 19s just fine, but that is close to the limit for fuel pressures below 44psi. If you have to run over 44 psi on any injector to maintain A/F ratio, it's time to step up to the next size injector.

tmoss- I have an 88 lx...did you convert your gt to mass air? because I am converting mine to mass air and I am curious as to if is should get a new kit or just buy the pieces and put it together...oh and thanks for the advice on the injectors...
