I grenaded 2nd gear!!

I was just driving to work in the rain, which means I was driving easy. I leave the line, shift at around 20mph, let the clutch out and BOOM! No more gear.

Now I need a new tranny. But I can't ungrade to a Tremec. I have to stick with the T-5 because my truck is 4wd.
So I think I need a gforce, but the price is a bit high, and I just put a new clutch in about 2000 miles ago. Man, sometime life sucks a bit.

Yeah, this is definitely not cool!
As I drained the tranny I kept hearing a plink, plink, plink sound as pieces of gear fell out. I can't believe a motor as weak as mine did so much damage.
I'm close to stock!
Plus I thought this mostly happened to third gear.

It might not be the greatest from a performance standpoint, but I believe Tremec had a tranny behind some of the heavier duty F150's...don't recall the number, but maybe something to look into and find some more info on...?

Good job Mike!. Can't see the pics but I know what it looks like. I did something similar to my GT about 2 years ago coming home in the rain I shifted into second just barely spinnin and BOOMMMMM destroyed second and the countershaft..That is when Mr.Bell raped me for the tranny I have now.... Need any help let me know

I was riding with my cousin in his 89 friday and he powershifted into 3rd gear and BOOM no more third gear. Always a good feeling!

Yep, I killed it good!
It looks like I'm getting a Gforce T-5.
But I just called them, and I can't get the parts until the beginning of next year.
Oh, on a side note, gforce doesn't recommend the SPEC stage 3 for their tranny. There is a hybrid stage 2/3 disc that SPEC makes for the Gforce. Strange.
