Some girl pulled directly out in front of me several weeks ago on wet streets. Nothing I could do to avoid her, and I hit her at about 5mph. She was driving a '90 corrolla, and I hit her side. The entire side of her car was pushed in, and the door barely shut. My car came out with the scratches on the bumper TRIM as shown. I was very lucky that is all the damage, and got some money to 'repair' it with.
Does this look like $820 of damage to you? That is what it would cost to pull the front bumper, sand it, paint it (dual color), and put it back on.
Anyway, the previous thread was inspired by the thought that I would have some money to spend on my car, and I am going to contiue it now with a better poll.
I definatly want to do something about the scratches. Most of my trim is in bad shape, so I would like to have it repainted. I imagine we are talking about ~100-200 dollars there if I pulled the trim and put it back on (and did some basic prep work).
I guess that leaves me with 6-700 to spend as I chose (plus whatever I feel nescariy to add from my savings acocount ) Vote for what you think would be money well spent. (T5 swap is not an option!). Look in my sig if you want a refresher on what my car looks like.

Put it on a diet and make it handle. Wheels, pahnard bar, K-mamber (?). Not sure if that last one's in budget.

well you did mention handling, and to me that's a priority. I'd go w/ the appearance stuff last - and do your hood/wheels idea from your previous post.

Take your money and find a Merkur or a Turbocoupe parts car and trade engines. Sell off the parts on your NA 2.3 and then throw subframe connectors, struts and springs on your car. Turbos are the coolest, you'll be hooked once you get one.

edit: I know you have forged units on there but the volume of the oval port heads and the turbo D-ports are the same and to get an 8 or 8.5:1 CR you'll want the dished pistons.

I had a turbo, and they definatly are a lot of fun. I just don't know if it is in the cards now or not.
Bendutro: When I rebuilt it over the summer, I threw in factory dish pistons, and milled the hell out of the head to get respectable NA power. I would build up a new head for 8.0-8.5:1 compression... maybe higher, I kinda liked the boost responce I had with 9:1 compression, but I wouldn't go that high again. (slapped at turbo on the NA, long story short, fuel pressure unexpetably dropped, and I broke a ring).

Right now, I am seriously considering a panhard bar. For 320, I can get an MM panhard bar, and it will clear the tailpipe.
I know I am going to use a little to get the 4.10's installed, and repaint the trim pieces... but hopefully, I can do all my own work, and it will cost $100 tops for all that.
