Welp alot of you know i had brake problems..Welp I get to work get out i smell something odd i look down at the back drivers side rotor its blue and really hot..So now i have new calipers coming and I hope i can save my new rotors and pads..Only the drivers side back is like this the rest are fine. But i have two new rear calipers coming..Guess it could have been worse but seems like i have had alot of brake problems..Hope this fixs everything..

In my probe the parking brake would stick sometimes and if i didnt notice it it would be on just the drivers side for the whole trip unless i smelled it at a stop.

I never got the problem fixed id just make sure everytime i left it was all the way disengauged.

Not sure if your problem is that the brake is sticking or what but that happened to me.

But you have an auto so i dont know if you use the ebrake

Just paint it back silver ... it'll be straight.

Just messin witcha. You're right though, it could be worse:

My driveway is on a slight incline. One night a few years back, I had parked as usual (except this time I had it in neutral with the parking brake set not in gear). My friend comes to the house really late that night and rings the doorbell (nobody rings my doorbell this time of night). I go to the door, he says "Man what the hell did you park in the woods for"? Yep, e-brake failed (ironically was a recall) and my car hit the tree so hard that I had limbs sticking out of my S281 spoiler. :nonono: My CD player was sitting in the back seat (out of dash with velocity).

thought it may make you feel better. :D

LOL tempo poor car..Well tmw i hope to have the car back on the road right now its in my deatil shop cuz thats what i do at the dealership so..Its more of a light blue but still not good..Seems like i have trown ever part at the brakes..Ohh well..

lol, that thing was so fun...it was my dad's that he got for $300...he hit a deer with it so he gave it to me..ripped exhaust off all but manifold...put a 26in. high wooden wing on the back and a cardboard hood scoop that didnt blow off at 60mph. Painted it well it was silver so I put green racing stripes and painted the wheels and wooden wing blue...lmao...then we cut the roof off at the posts, and took the doors off...drove it here on the back roads and dirt roads for like 2 months and went over my whoopdies on my dirtbike track one too many times...hole in the oil pan...wasnt worth fixing lol...oh and it was a 5speed. LOUD as heck. Since it had no windshield or roof we pointed the windshield washer thing at the passenger...lol that was fun too especially when we pissed in it and did it to dad and to this day he still doesn't know. So when he hits a deer I get it. Waiting now for his 1990 Nissan 4cyl. 5 speed truck...might weld some seats in the bed...lol

Ok sorry for making a long post about nothing on someone elses thread...

probably the calipers are stuck. i had a newer accord come in with the rear rotors literally blue and were still about 200 degrees about 2 hours after the car has been sitting on the rack. they use the same rear braking setup as a mustang. the caliper has the ebrake on a spring and has an actuator to apply the pad. replaced the calipers and rotors and pads and all was well with the world.

Anyways Cant...sorry to hear that, I hope your new rotor isnt screwed :(

I had almost the exact same problem as you. Put new pads on the car and drove it about 5 miles in town on the interstate to go to some event and smelled something weird. Got to the place and got out and noticed a little smoke and a NASTY smell comming from my rear drivers side wheel, the rotor vaporized spit on contact it was so hot. Slowly drove it back home and after the rotor cooled off we took the caliper off and brought a torch to it. Torched the caliper until we were able to pull both of those movable piston type things in the caliper. Pulled both out finally and one was EXTREMELY rusted out and the other was on its way to disaster. We cleaned those up with some sandpaper and new lube, put em back in, and the problem was solved. I guess you already have new calipers on the way though so it doesn't matter now but yeah. IF anyone else tries it though, be careful, when you heat the caliper up enough and finally pull that piston out, a ****ton of hot hot hot lube flys out too, you dont want to be on the recieving end of it.
