Hey guys I had to replace my calipers on my pos car and I'm right in the middle of doing it. Anyway I couldn't get the e brake cable back onto the new caliper so I took off that big black spring not thinking it had that much compression and now I can't get it back on.

How can I get this back on?

Never EVER take the spring off.

Research a project before attempting it.

If you had done some research you would know not to take off the spring.

Good luck with that spring...

After a few scars on my hands, I found that needle nose vise grips helped alot. Good luck... You'll definitely need it.

Never work on brakes without a good pair of needle nose pliers, vise grip needle nose even better as mentioned.

Shoulda posted this in the Tech section.

Just leave it off....who needs an E-brake anyways.

Ford probably has a tool for that. Or they don't pull it off. One of the two. I should invent a mini spring compressor. Something for little springs like that. Anybody have some capital to front this venture?

Sell the car if you don't like it.

I got it on guys, but what a pain to do. Tomustang, I don't really want to sell my car, I actually like it quite a bit, I was only saying that as a joke. Most of my problem was is that I was working on it late at night and was sick of it so I was getting desperate and looking for an easy way out. Thats why I took that spring off in the first place, I learned that lesson the hard way...

So let me get this straight... The car is a POS because you don't know how to fix it???? What was wrong with the original calipers.

SVTTech, I had a stuck slide on one of them so I replaced them with some Cobra calipers. Yeah I learned the lesson the hard way, didn't I Catman. But I actually didn't spend any money getting it back on, just some swear words and some vice grips.
