I recently replaced the heater core in my 93 LX. I thought that I had hooked everything back up correctly. I have even double checked all the connections. The only place it works is the dash vents, no matter what position the switch is in. Is it possible that there is too much air in the vacuum lines to make it switch? Has anyone else had this problem? :bang:

there is a vacuum line disconnected somewhere, this happened to me when i did mine also. check under the glove box near the stereo. there is a little white block with a few vacuum lines hooked up.

I would say vacuum line too but Im pretty sure if the vacuum is disconnected you only get air out of the defrost vents. If you're gettin air just out of the main vents i would say maybe the door in the heater box is stuck or maybe somethings wrong with the heater controls themselves, like maybe the plug isnt' pushed in all the way. Good luck with it

I dont know if you messed around with anything under your hood but i had the same problem and it was a vaccum line that was located around the back of my upper intake cant remeber where exactly.

I did the same as 87 t top and checked the vacuum tree and lines under the hood on the firewall along the upper edge. One of my vacuum lines were disconnected and I reconnected it and it fixed everything. I didn't do anything under the dash as you did, so I'd check there too.

Hope this helps-

Thanks for your help guys. My Stang is currently off the daily driver list so I guess I will check the underhood connections first and then if I have too take the dash out again. I really appreciate your help.

yep, check the vac to it (gauge). also, sometimes the doors get stuck - a good whack can free them up. good luck.

Check under the hjood, but since you had the conmtrols out, I would say you probably pulled off the yeelow marked vacuum line to the vacuum canister behind the driver's side radio. Here is a pic of the controls and which line to take there - it's the only one by itself on the back of the control.....

Thanks for the pic. This may be what I missed. All of you have been a great help.
