i get pissed at certain things with the car, like the notchy shift into second and having to worry about loseing a spark plud and messin up the heads, but over all ive been lucky so far. i know i will be saying i hate this damn car sometime down the road if i ever lose a spark plug....thats a pita.

anyway, my car has been in stroage for the winter. today, i decided to get things moving a bit and take it to work (20min) each way.

just watching peoples reactions when they see it, and pushing the pedel to the floor reminds me why go through the effert and money to make this car what it is.

its different when you drive your car every day like i do in the nice weather. it doesnt feel fast and you are used to it.

however, when you dont drive you car for a month or so, you realize that the car is pretty fast.................and it feels great!!!

just thought id share my experiance and feeling. now its back in the garage till spring.

Man your lucky :nice: . And I know what you mean....I actually started thinking my dads 00 V6 mustang was pretty fast a while back before I got the bike. Thats all I had driven for a few months....and man it scared me LOL. I cant imagine what my GT will feel like after its tuned....I have basically forgot how it even sounded :nonono:

6 months and counting now...IF OUR WELDER WOULD HAVE GIVEN US THE HEADER TODAY WE COULD HAVE FIRED IT UP TOMORROW!
He only has to put 2 hours into it and its done....been 4 days now. Oh well...."maybe next week" LOL. (quoted for the 1,000,000 time)

Very cool. You also gotta love the dense and cool air winter brings. For me, I keep my car on the road during the winter because we actually do get many breaks in the weather to do so and it always feels great.

6 months wow i went 8 months with out my stang then when i got it rolling again i thought it was pretty fast :D

i went 3 years!!! i traded an 02 for a hemi. when i didnt need the truck for work purposes anymore, i wanted a stang again. i test drove an 04 last week and its sitting in my driveway now. i dont even need to drive it, i just like going out and looking at it.

haha, I understand, you're car was incredibly beautiful, the one time I saw it in person..

My car doesn't get noticed much, until someone hears the exhaust, but I love it just the same, and if it looked as great as yours, I can't even imagine the compliments it would get...

bluextc, thank you. your exhaust does sound good! i chose to keep mine quiet...i get enough attention from the cops around here. actually, for the most part they are ok!

i am happy that the car looks and drives the way it does, but its just the feeling of excitement i get after i havent driven it in a while. you guys know what i mean!

hotmustang, you are going to go crazy once you get back in your car and you put that pedel down. its going to feel 2x as fast as you imagined because of the down time!!!!! :nice:

I hater ne winters. I put my car away back in like november because of the THREAT of snow. Its been 2 months now and we actually had a decent stretch of nice weather in december but I didnt take it out. Mind you, Im driving a 99 neon as my beater. I actually get to drive it again in like 2 months when I pull it out to bring to the tuner for the new motor. I cant wait. Sometimes Ill just got out to the garage to make sure the battery charger is still working and a couple times each winter I start it up just to keep the fluids moving. Then it sucks when you gotta shutit off and put the cover back on without even taking it for a ride. Oh well, 600 rwhp come springtime will make it worth it.

I've been driving mine all winter. It kinda dulls the effect of driving it since you are in it every day, but it's too much fun to put away.

Driving near 0 degree temp is interesting though. The tires are so cold and hard that going over 4000RPM in 1st, 2nd or 3rd will spin the tires up. I haven't been able to go WOT for about 3 weeks now since it got VERY cold out. Still, even when it's cold and the car covered in a thin layer of salt, i still get people revving their engine at me wanting to race me a light. Sadly, even if i wanted to run them, i could because it's just not safe with the lack of traction.

yep

I hear ya man, mines tucked in under her car cover in the garage for the winter. Spring is still a ways off too... Oh well, atleast I know she's staying rust free by not being exposed to all the salt on the roads. That and with the way the winters are in Wisconsin, it's just not safe to drive them anyway. I still hate looking at her everyday knowing I can't drive her. :nonono:

WOW! december of 05!!!!! what is going on there man?

01saleennki, what are your upcomming plans to get 600 rwhp this summer?

hang in there everyone.....spring is around the corner!

im starting to like my stang more and more the less i drive it. sounds kinda wierd.. but i drove it non stop for a year stright.. and now im finally back in my suburban for a week cause of some snow and salt.. took her back out today and couldnt stop smiling. i think a modded mustang should really be a weekend nice weather car. when i think about it, its mainly fun when its nice out and you can acctually drive the car, other than that, it can get kinda frustrating.

yea, they are great weekend cars and nice weather cars. honestly if i drove mine as a daily driver( i hate to say it) but i dont know how well it would be holding up. i guess ill know when i get some more miles on her. got about 12,000. so far it been great...no real problems.

however, when something does go wrong im in trouble...ford wont even touch my car with all the mods. i have to get it towed all the way to the mechanic/tuner. hopefully ill be lucky with it for a while longer:nice:

For me its not so much the speed, i get plenty of that in winter. (0-100mph in ~5 seconds in the ditch :nice: )
But its the comfort and the feeling the car gives you, you just feel good when your in a mustang. And the sound, Thats my favorite part, but i get to hear that in winter too, i have to start it up and move it back and forth in the garage in order to wiggle the sled in to work on it.
(heated garage, so for the stang it thinks its summer no damage done)

My neighbours hate me all year round. The Stang and my bike are too loud for their likeing (AND i have a fairly quiet exhaust on the stang... can't even talk to someone with the bike idling beside you :D )... and once thats in storage they realise just how good they had it in summer...In winter when i've got my old truck running with the exhaust out the headers (rest of the exhaust fell off, trucks not worth it to fix it) and the multiple sled's that are being driven over their lawns and snowbanks into my truck mwahaha. And hell, My sled thats piped and clutched at 4500, even with a sound deadening helmet, balaclava etc on it sounds like your standing next to a Carerra GT at redline. They always ask why its necessary that i rev it so loudly to load it... tee hee :rlaugh: ...
