I hear what Allan was saying. When ihad my 03 and i spent alot of time on the terminator section of svtperformance.com, grew to hate it. Just far to many wealthy people who didnt even know how to change a spark plug, yet they could throw out thousands of dollars for mods at a speed shop. Then they would head to the track and run 13.5's in their 500rwhp cobra. Of course they would race on street tires and make threads about why cant i get traction?????

I suppose its fine to be that way, but i much prefer this place, where everyone does mods themselves and we all learn from each other in that regard.

So let me give out a couple thumbs up to :SNSign:

Yes, this is the greatest section of any forum anywhere. We should be able to voice our opinions in the appropriate section without it being locked. The VW forums are freaking pathetic, very sad. This place is great. Good bunch of guys here.

This reminds me of my 44 year old uncle that thinks he's hot **** cause he got an '06 GT and had an exhaust shop install his cat backs. He then started bragging about the new 45kv ignition coil and system he just ordered. He claimed it would probably melt my plug wires right off if I put it in my car.

I astutely informed him that 2006 Mustang GTs don't use ignition coils. I asked him if he wanted to see a 45kv MSD coil on a car with a distributor, I would pop the hood of my beater. But in the mean time I suggested he call Summit back and cancel the order.

I agree. And I think (like you guys do) that it's not that other forums/sub forums are vacuous, but rather the 94-95 family here is just SO good.

For a point of reference: I get to be around some of the mods outside here more than some other folks and I'll say they do an awesome job. If you read most of their posts, they have a wonderful attitude while doing their work here (it's a tough balance to be friendly and also take care of the forum, as I'm sure Paul, Joe, et al over here can relate).
I can see why that thread had to be nipped - it could be taken as a bash on another sub-forum here. I don't think that's necessarily how it was intended though (I read it as more of a comparison, noting how good things are here). In a related way, If a member was being attacked, the staff here would have shut that sucker down too - it's their job.

It's pretty cool that no one here really goes off the deep-end about what they think of other forums; taking the higher road instead. Not participating where one doesn't like being in exchange for participating here is how one voices that opinion.

Just take on that.

I don't think it was any more a bash than our cars being called old or slow. It was posted in here, to us, and was relitively 94-95 talk related. I'm sure they had their reasons for yanking the thread but I don't think it was that big of a deal.

Me too!

I like to think that Joe and I are extremely lenient when it comes to moderating this forum, but luckily we don't have a whole lot to do here either as the folks that make up this 94-95 section are some of the best I've come across on the web. Other than the occasional classified and street racing thread, I don't recall ever having to lock anything on here. The only reason those threads are locked is because it has been made abundantly clear that the owners of the site does not and will not allow them. I've also never had to ban anyone yet, and I like that and hope that day never comes.

Thanks everyone for making my "job" easy. :SNSign:
