I may have made a gasket mistake.

My 2.3 N/A that is my daily driver right now has the turbo block from the turbo engine I plan on doing the swap with. I didnt have the money to complete the turbo swap and my car needed to run so the N/A head was put on the turbo block and thats how I drive it now. Although when that happened I got a gasket set for a 84 model 2.3 since that was the turbo engine year that I had but it wasnt the turbo gasket set so when I finish the swap will I be able to leave the regular gasket around the oil pan and just get the correct gaskets for the head so I dont have to take the block out or will I have to take the entire thing out again and redo it all?

Thats a huge relief, I just have to get the parts together now, injectors, turbo, turbo coupe computer and a few other small things. I also plan on using the stock intake from my N/A motor because I heard it would perform better than the 1984 stock turbo intake but if I order the gasket kit wouldnt it come with the gasket for the stock 84 intake?

Well, the problem you'll run into there is that the '84 head and the later model intakes are not drilled the same at the topmost forward bolt hole. Why, I don't know. But, you'll have to either drill and tap the head in the right location or drill out the manifold (which I'm not sure if that works or not) or something like that. You'll see what I mean if you look at an intake gasket- it has both the holes.

I'm having the same problem, I have an '84 turbo engine that I'm trying to build with all '87-88 TC parts, so I'm gonna have to figure out what I wanna do with the intake. Drilling in cast iron is a bitch, by the way.
