Heres part of a conversation.......

Bone Stock 1997 Auto LT1- I'll be there Friday night[At the track]. I put on the Mickeys last week when I did the bolts. God I hope it can hook. They are at 30psi right now and traction is great. I can only imagine what 12-15psi will be like with these things.

Someone else-If I could hook in my M6 GTO with 381whp on stock BFG all season KDW, then Im sure you can hook with a stock LT1, and Mickeys.

Bone Stock 1997 Auto LT1-In my experience, 6spds are easier to hook with than an auto. You can slip the clutch like a higher stall, but with a crappy 1200 stock stall, it's not easy......for me. I ran back to back 14.0 with 2.0 60fts in my cousin's 94 6spd Formula. He later on got a 13.5 out of it with a 1.7 or 1.8 on bald Goodyear RSAs. My best in my auto formula is a 14.6 with a 2.5 sixty foot and with 275s.

Is the LT1 guy noty a dumbass??? Heres the thread I got it from http://www.azclubgp.com/viewtopic.php?t=6341&start=0

Im The Punisher on there I replied on the second page.....That guy is always making dumbass comments that he seriously thinks are true.... Like for example 2 stock LS1's, a auto would be faster than a stick....And he will keep denying it and denying like a dumbass

Sounds like he needs some re-edumacation. How do you cut a 2.0 60' in a 6 speed, but then turn around and cut a 2.5 in an auto? I guess he takes the stab and steer and feel the fear thing too seriously with his auto. The 2.0 in the 6 speed is actually alright on street tires.

I think the confusion there is the distinction between "hooking" and getting a good 60' time. Sure, the auto with MT's wont have a problem getting traction, but that doesnt mean it will get a better 60' than a well launched M6. I think when this guy is saying he can hook the M6 better than the A4, he's saying that he can get out of the hole faster, and not referring to being able to get traction...

I have a 95 6spd T/A and you have to bring it out like a punk on street tires.

Anything much over 1200-1500 and it'll fry them badly. I only managed a 2.2 60' and went 14.4 @ 96 bone stock.

I can't see traction, other than being able to bog it naturally.

I wouldve liked to run it on slicks....I bet it would've gone 13.9/14.0 stock.
