I need drag/street suspension EVERYTHING!

Hey guys, just was ripping **** outa my car for wieght reduction. I took out the following tonight.

Dog Bone
Rear bumper plastic/metal bars.
quads gone
front sway bar

Lets just say shes handling a little sloppy now.

Current suspension is all stock except newer front struts napa specials.

So tell me the best suspension setup you would suggest.

Looking for street/drag

Considering lakewood 70/30's

or coilovers <------- this is what i think i want to do.

I want the lightest setup as possible.

I run the Eibach Drag Springs with air bag in passenger side, Lakewood 70/30's up front and 50/50's out back, no swaybars, UPR upper and lower control arms. I can get high 1.6 60's on motor and 1.5's on the jug. Picks the tires up about 12" on both.

Streetablity is good but I would not suggest any fast cornering with out any swaybars.

Summit is as good a place (or better) than anyone to buy the stuff. Shop around a little and if you find a better price have them match it.

As for the "weight" reduction -- things like the rear bumper could actually help you having weight all the way at the back of the car -- while you're definitely right on with the front sway bar.

slvrbullit302, I'm a little surprised you didn't mention an aftermarket rear sway bar. If you don't have ANY rear sway bar at all, you may be costing yourself a little -- you'd probably find that something back there would help you out even more. Good times anyway, BTW.

the rear sway bar is still on.

my car chirps the tires from 1-2 even at 1500RPM.

I think I should put my quads back in, or get better control arms?

This problem I can deal with but after i took out all that stuff my car just spins the tires until i take my foot off the gas.

I've got waffel rims with 245/50's about 70% tread left

I have snapped three stock ones when I had the stock suspension, one i picked up at the dealership, installed it then went to the track and first pass I heard a POP and aborted the run got back and looked and the passenger side was hanging down. I am lookin into a Anti-roll bar set-up here in the next couple months or so, just reasearching the best one out there right now.

Springs $279+tax
Shocks $240+tax
Control arms $150 from a friend

Labor-- case of beer and some pizza and a few skinned knuckles.

Nice I'll prob be ordering the suspension along with my harmonic balancer (just crapped out).

These are the ones I have, I bought off a friend of mine for $150 new in box with two set of bushings, he bought two sets in bowling green and the NMRA nationals a couple years ago and didnt use one set so he sold them to me.

That price for the 70/30 seems low, I looked in book and they were listed for 89.99 each. Make sure you did not look up a shock and not a strut.

ill make sure they are the front struts and not rear shocks. It seemed low to me too. I'll check out the link now
