my 95 has apprx.103 thousand miles on it,what is too many miles to start a build? i wanna reach 400HP or close, but i'm afraid my motor wont stand for it,or will it?will C/H/I and boost get me there?i really need to decide what to do.maybe a rebuild and the bolt-ons,or a long block with all the major goodies.i wanna try and stay as cheap as possible, but this car has to last me.(if you know what i mean-wife,kids,mortgage,etc).can some of you more experienced guys give me some guidance please?

I wouldn't be too worried about 103k if you took care of it. Your goal of 400HP is very attainable with the mods you listed, if not more. A quality, matched H/C/I setup can get you over 300 at the wheels itself. If you're worried about longevity, run a compression check on your current engine before the build to get an idea of what type of condition it's in. I just did a swap of an Explorer shortblock with TFS heads & a Typhoon intake. The shortblock only cost me an extra few hundred dollars because I sold the GT40P heads on it. I'll let you know how it turns out once I get it finished up, but the swap was pretty straightforward.

To me ... that sets the reference point for the whole project ;)

Sure ... 400 to the wheels with a blower is possible :)

Is that what you wanna do to your only car thats gotta be rock solid dependable each and every day ??????????????

To my way of thinking ................ NO!

With that many miles on the clock ................

IMHO ... Boost could take what life is left ... pretty quick :(
