alright, i just got my tranny back together last night, with the tranny laying on my garage floor, and the shifter on, i can shift into 1st 2nt and 3rd but after that i almost have to force it in and then i cant get it into fith and reverse. is this normal?? or should it go into all the gears easily??

im tryin to brace the tranny the best i can and try and put them into gears, but they just wont go in, my tranny keeps rolling around. another thing, the imput shaft spins, it just wont go into gear, what could be making this happen?

Start tearing apart your transmission. Maybe your 5th/reverse lever is broke? For the lack of a better word 5th and reverse work together.

As for 4th gear I dont know? Possibly a 3-4 slider gear? Your gonna have to take it apart and see what's going on.

i already took it apart once, thats how i screwed it up..... so the fact that there isnt fluid probably has nothing to do with it?

Correct the fluid has nothing to do with not going into gear.

I hate T5's. I rebuilt mine had all the gear shifting good. Then put the tranny back in.....go figure 1st and 2nd would not go into gear. I gave up and bought a TKO.

how much was the tko?

1600 bucks for the TKO500 with 26 spline input shaft. I needed to buy a new clutch. You could get a 10 spline and use your exsisting clutch.

If you get the 10 spline you also need a driveshaft yoke and new bellhousing. I think the 10spline is rated at 500lbs of TQ and the 26 spline is rated at 550 lbs of TQ. If you plan on running slicks the 26spline is needed. Well from what I was told.
