Your car is OBD-1.

The cold air intake you installed may have disturbed the way the air flows through the MAF. Is there a bend in the tube right before the MAF?

Sometimes if you rotate the MAF to a different position it helps. Loosen the clamps that hold the tubing to the MAF. Rotate the MAF 90 degrees if you can and retighten the clamps. Give it a try and see.

If you can’t rotate the MAF, you can always put the factory air filter stuff back in and see if the problem goes away.

By the way, the factory setup is already a cold air setup. You probably gained nothing by removing it. Is the new filter exposed in the engine bay?

Also, changing to long tube heaters involves O2 sensor being further from its stock location and typically involves wiring extensions. How did all that go? Double check all of that and make sure wire connections and wire securing is good.

Wiring to the test connector and/or the EEC itself are then suspect.

If I were you I'd take the CAI off and go back stock to see if it clears up. The electrical problem you have needs to be sorted out though. Like stated turning the maf may help.

Just out of curiosity, how did you discover #4 misfiring. Is that cylinder not firing at all or is it randomly misfiring?

On the obd connector, the 94-5 GT models have a scanner connector under the dash, that connection does not work, the obdl is by the right/passenger side at the back of the shock tower. Is that the one you're using?

If you’re sure that the spark plug for #4 is firing as it should, the next step in my recommendation would be a compression test.

Try the paper clip/ jumper wire method and reading the check engine light flashes, should be plenty of YouTube videos sh9wing how, if it still won't out put codes chances are high ecu needs repair or replacement. The obd2 port is present on 94-95 v8 cars but its not connected to anything so it won't out put any readings,it was there for the v6 models.
