well i was going through my trunk last night and i found a wadded up bunch of papers that happened to be a bunch of receipts from the guy who owned the car before me.

one of the receipts was for a purchase of flowmaster 40s. now i know what mufflers i hate! i need to get new ones asap. i just went to the beach and the traffic was keeping me around 2100 rpms almost the whole way. after an hour i wanted to kill myself.

i love the sound at idle, but the droning is killing me.

what mufflers do you have and do they drone at all between 1800 and 2500?

dynomax super turbo, mgnaflow, pretty much any non-chambered muffler. spintech as well

just to name a few, i am planning on removing my mac's for some dynomax super turbos or some type of magnaflow

I sure love my Magnaflows. The best sounding muffler in my opinion. It has a good low rumble and when you need WOT, it sounds even better.

i think with an X and some straight through design muffs (like my setup is) its not like there is no drone, BUT its higher up in the rpms....so its not really at crusing speed....of course with my stock 2.73's if you throw it in 5th gear, your like at idle while cruising

The (dynomax) Ultra-Flos are NOT chambered, they are straight through like Magnaflow.

so long as they don't drone and they are not too loud, they would be fine for my purposes.

Alot of that will have to do with your mid pipe (H or X) and if you have cats or not, but I checked the FAQ where they did the muffler comparison and magnaflow made more power than dynomax. I'd go ahead and get Magnaflow, I had a friend that had those and they were great for the city driving with no drone and he had a off road H-pipe.

I love the sound of the Ultra Flos with the X, not to loud with NO drone but harsh as hell at WOT, I LIKE harsh. I'm just tired of the same old flomaster/h pipe sound.
