Im at the point of where i can put my driveshaft in and install the driveshaft loop i have. I bought it form a guy that went from a mustang to a thunderbird, and i guess wouldnt work on his application. Its in the box, unfortunately, the box doesnt have any directions or diagrams in it.

I need an idea of how close to the tranny it needs to be and how you guys mounted yours. Any help and or pics would be great! Thanks!

This probably wont help but I did see where a guy mounted his to his SFCs so that he did not have to drill holes through the floor.

The instructions for my HPM safety loop said 4 inches from the rear of the trans. What brand is the one you have??

Its a lakewood.. i tried looking it up on the internet, but to no avail. i figure it has to be towards the front of the driveshaft for obvious reasons, i just didnt know if there was like an nhra requirement.

i would think the loop would be more effective towards the axle, in casr you snap off those bolts or break the U joint...anyone know exactly why they are 4in from the tranny?

nevermind, duh,,if it breaks up front it will scrape the ground possibly damaging more that just a driveline..and if it breaks at the rear with th loop up front nothing will happen except the driveshaft will fall out, deh!
