I have been scheming for months now on how to get forced induction on the cheap in my cobra, as I hate the idea of paying a load of money for something that I can do. I figured how to build a twin-turbo setup, but I want more instantaneous torque for street. I mean, 96-98 Cobras aren't exactly long on torque. A 03/04 Cobra blower and intake would be great, but that would require changing the heads to tumble port......(read: expensive.) So after much fiddling, and measuring, I think I may have found a solution. If all works out, I can run a 03/04 Cobra blower and intercooler on a 96-98. If I can make this work, any 96-98 Cobra will be able to stomp on a LS1's balls for under a grand.

I know I am new here, but I need a little help from my fellow StangNetters. This is what I need:

1. A 03/04 Cobra with an Eaton to take some measurement/pics of.

2. A stock 96-98 Cobra intake manifold.

3. Here's the biggie, and I know it's a long shot. Do any KB Cobra owners still have their stock blowers that they would be willing to let me use for measurement, fitment, or purchase for a reasonable amount?? I am pretty broke at the moment, but I do have time to work on this, and access to some nice machining and fabricating equip. I really hope that I can help put some beans into the 96-98 Slowbras at a cost that anyone can afford.:nice:

I have, I just like the way a roots car drives. I do love turbos very very much though.:D

I like the simplicity of the roots also, as no exhaust mods are needed, no oil lines need to be run, underhood temps should be no higher, and no BOVs or wastegates to be bought. All in all I think it will be a better budget upgrade.

Also, later, after building the bottom end, a 2.4 KB or ported Eaton can be bolted on for major go potential.
