I need to ditch the straight pipes.

Well, with driving to school everyday, I am getting tired of the straight pipes. I love how they sound but theyare just too loud for long trips. So Im going to get a catback exhaust. At first I was thinking a Borla side exhaust. But I saw a GT with them and it wasnt even lowered. He scraped everywhere. My car is lowered 2 inches so that wont fly. Then I was thinking an SLP Loudmouth becasue I DO want something loud. But I was searching around and found that they arent that great sounding. Pluss I NEED my low RPM tourqe back, and resonators wont do that for me. So what would you suggest with stock headers and an O/R H-pipe?

Sound clips are MUCH appreciated.

Thanks guys.

And yes I did search.

with an H pipe i'd say flowmasters, but as alot of these guys will tell you they do tend to drone a little bit. Try bassani, they make great stuff but its just a tad more expensive.
Well Ive had straight pipes since I got the car, so drone never has bothered me. lol

Most decent with a good mix between loud and streetable I'd say Flowmaster American Thunder, if you don't mind some drone.

I'm about to put Dynomax Race Bulletts on mine. After getting pulleld over the other night, I decided I needed to put some type of mufflers on mine as well. Thankfully no ticket though.

I was actually considering those. I know a guy with a '98 Cobra with those and they are pretty loud and sound good.

But my only thing with thye flowmaster systems is the tips. I want some 3 or 3.5 in straight cut rolled tips. All the ones Ive seen their systems with look stock.

What about this?

i ran my car with no mufflers hooked up (straight out of the prochamber) and it was LOUD!! the flows really quiet it down. the magnaflows are a straight through muffler so not much back pressure

im thinking about switching to em to gain some space under there (flows are huge)

gears will make up for any lost low end

Well I plan on getting soem 3:73's after this, so then the SLP's WOULD be a good choice?

I just had those welded in. they are LOUD and i have a catted X, i think theyd be ridiculous with an o/r pipe...but with tails they will quiet it down over dumps or no mufflers at all.

id do flow's cheaper and sound good with an H... hell stock cat back would be decent
Actually the SLP kit is cheaper than the Flomaster kit. By about $75-100 too.

I think Im going to get the SLP based on cost and sound. I know some people dont like it, but I think it sounds pretty good.

Plus I should have my low RPM tourqe back after my gears.

Adn thanks for the link BlackVert. I knew I saw that before but I couldnt remember where it was.
