Yes, it's true, I traded my 1999 Integra GS-R for a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 automatic. While this saddens me a great deal, since I no longer can go fast, or race anything, or in general, raise my adrenaline levels, I stand by my decision. I traded with my bro because I'm now married and have a kid on the way. I still owed on my car and his was paid off. So he took my payments and I took the car. It runs on regular, it's automatic so the wife can drive it, and has a larger back seat. I will miss my Integra like an addict misses his crack. Oh well, life goes on.

A mid 14 second Integra shouldn't be much faster than a mid 16 second Escort???

A ZX2 would have been my 2nd choice if the Mustang never existed.. they are neat little cars if you want something cheap to run around in. If it came down to a choice between a ZX2 and a focus 3-door, I would probably go with the ZX2. Unless you are talking SVT focus, that's a different story.

I thought you had a RSX type-S?

Either way, I'd say welcome to the Ford family except that Ford guys usually never acknowledge Escorts. J/K

No seriously, there are things more important in life than cars. Not in my life(at the moment); but I understand where you're coming from. But on the bright side, you'll have a fast car soon enough. Even faster than the Integra. And I'm sure your kid will grow up with a passion for cars. Congrats on the kid; and as far as the Escort goes...good luck waiting it out. Your time's gonna be occupied with something way more important in the mean time, so the wait should fly by.

I still have my 86 300ZX-T project car in the parents garage. I guess I'll have to get steppin on that. But the Escort isn't so bad. Lowered with 17 inch wheels on it. It actually looks pretty nice. And I do enjoy having a key fob.

Post up some pics of the new ride, I would like to see the domestic car that the import guy is driving. But seriously, I guess a kid is a little more important than a 99 Integra, I undertand that.

They have a pretty good amount of after market parts out there for the Zx2. You can get a CAI off e-bay, some headers and exhaust, Its a DOHC 2.0 right? you can have quite a bit of fun if you really wanted to with the car.

Well the point of the trade was so I wouldn't have to fork a bunch of money into a car. I think I'll leave the ZX2 the way it is. Maybe later on down the line if I have a little extra cash I can pick up a cai or something. Just so it sounds better.

I know from experience, kids cost a lot of money, i am one. I wasn't a spoiled brat, but in general, there's obviously a lot you gotta buy for a kid. saving your money is probably a good idea for now. As for me, Im a student, and thats what they made student loans for, lol, jk.

Sorry for you man, lol. One day the kid will graduate college, and you will be able to buy another quick one. I'm gonna miss the integra though. And as for "modding" the escort... thats probably the stupidest thing ive ever heard of. its like straight pipes on a v6 mustang.
