What about one of those "gator" sockets?? the ones with all the movable pins inside to grip whatever odd-shaped piece you slide it over. I'll try to find a pic unless you know what I'm talking about.

you could heat it up with one of those portable torch thingys.... that'll get it off for ****zle

Those look like they bite into the flat edges of the nut and could damage it. What if he wants to put it back on??

Seriously, I asked my dad about those (to my surprise, he has a set) and he says they were worth every penny.

I had that happen once, I just used a die grinder (sp?) to cut the nut in half very carefully.

there is no way i can reuse that nut..... it is round.

Those puppies are awesome. We used them on my wifes GT.

That'll work! I used my dremel with a small cutoff wheel to cut the rivets off the brake dust shields - man, it was like cutting butter with a hot knife.

I looked on Craftsmans site and couldn't find the other socket. I used to have one in my toolbox but can't find it. If I do find it I'll snap a pic of it.
