Well I can’t decide what to do?!? I have this Supercharged ’89 Notch, which most of you have seen I would imagine. Great looking car, runs like a champ, Interior is great. I just spent like $1400 on new Detroit Chrome Cobra R’s and great tires like 2 weeks ago. UPR Boostmaster Pipe was delivered today, ready to install as soon as I’m ready. Battery relocation kit sitting in my garage waiting for ambition. Car’s all set up with slicks and skinnys for the track and has run a best of 11.90 @116 (12.5 emissions passing). Really love the car and would hate to sell a clean notchback Stang. Problem is I sold my BMW 325i Daily Driver a few months back and winter is coming up here pretty quick. I can’t justify driving this Mustang all winter for multiple reasons. 1) It cost me $17 a day in gas to drive it to work and back. 2) The car is rust-free and it would be asinine to drive it through Wisconsin muck 3) I don’t want to die, and it’s dangerous enough just driving it in the rain. I just can’t decide what to do. I had talked with a large Ford dealer a few months back because my girlfriend was looking at getting a new GT and I had him give me a trade in amount on my car just for ****s and giggles. They told me $5k without any negotiating. I’m sure I could have asked for more but I had no intentions of trading it, was just curious what they would give me. I paid more than that for it. The car has a boat load of go fast, cost a lot, parts on it. My big problems are the fact that it still has a 302, which just isn’t big enough in my mind, and because I want to buy a house in the next 12 months, I don’t want to drop money on an engine. I also have a huge problem with the masking job that was done around the sunroof when whoever the idiot was that painted it painted it. While it might not be noticed at all by most, and isn’t really noticeable from about 5 ft., it still bugs the heck out of me. And of course, I feel the trim on the doors (top, by the window) could be replace with some that has never seen sun because they are kind of getting faded. Little stuff like that drives me nuts. And of course the rattles that come along with a 17 year old car get annoying, even though I have them pretty much under control. I guess the question is how much does a 2000 GT go for at a dealer? And how can I get somebody, private or dealer, to trade me for my car for a newer one that is stock without any cash or very little from me. I would consider getting a newer Mustang if someone would trade me for my Modded one, but again, I don’t want to drop much cash into the deal. My other option is to get a few hundred dollar beater for the winter and hold out on any decision on the Mustang until my mind is thoroughly convinced. I don’t know, I just don’t know. I need help man! What should I do.
