Ok, for a little bit now ive smelt anit-freeze inside my car, if you turn on the heat it gets really strong for a mins or 2 then goes away. Coolant level is staying up, ive been checking it often.

Does my heater core have a slow leak or is something else wrong?

If its the heater core how does one go about replacing that?

hop ethat it is not a heater core cause you have to take the dash out. I blew and I had a 700 repair bill from ford cause it took a ton of labor to rip the dash out.

Sounds like the heater core.. I just did one in my 01 V6 driver. It took me all saturday, I'm too cheap to pay someone else to do it. What a pain. The steering wheel, center console & the entire dash. Had to evac the AC system also.

Instead of repairing the heater core, I would remove the two heater hoses and pour some alumaseal into the tubes. It should patch the hole - it did on mine.
