Here are my opinions of why:

1. Brand new flywheel and the clutch plate may not have seated properly
2. At the starting line, I let out the clutch until I almost feel it engage before launch
3. Too much power for the Centerforce Dual Friction (doubt that though)
4. Not performing the burnout correctly

I made three runs yesterday and at the end of all three, I slightly smelled clutch. I feel like I am driving the car right, but not liking the smell. What could it be. I do a 2nd gear burnout by reving the car, popping the clutch and holding about 5000 RPM's until the tires are hot. I'll let the brake out, spin the tires to about 10 feet before the line and push the clutch in. Now, on my first run ever with this new setup, I popped the clutch on the burnout too early which bogged the engine and actually stalled the car (not used to the new cam). I am sure that wasn't good on the clutch either. Opinions?

have you gotten actual break in time on the clutch before taking it to the track and beating on it? if not you have definately taken some life out of it. it should hold your HP level without even a hiccup.

I drove it around for over 500 miles just like the instructions say.. it can't be because of the break-in period.. Drove it like a cat for that 500 miles.. I hated every bit of it too!
