Okay, this was not a street reace but an honest test of cars in a semi controlled environment. I work in an idustrial park and after work there's nice large open areas of no traffic or people. So we picked a spot to do some runs. At the end of a culdasack even, so only one way in or out, for safety.

My car is in my sig. My buddies was a new IS350. (306hp, 3547lbs)

First I tried a soft launch. Just pushed in on the gas normally to WoT. (tires never chriped)

Result....we stayed nearly neck and neck but he was slowly walking me the entire time. After the shift to 4th he was pulling me. I felt the auto tranny shifted way short too. Wasn't looking at the tach though, for safety.

I did a hard launch next and it did launch me faster but again nearly the same results. (tires barely chirped 1st and 2nd) and yes the TC was off.

So....WTF.....this all started because when I road around in his IS350 it felt damn fast. It pulled hard and got up to speed really quickly. I always felt when I got my car back from Vortech that it didn't really feel all that much faster. But everyone said I was nuts. Sure enough it seems something is the hell wrong with my tune, though.

The car runs smooth, doesn't spit any smoke out the pipes. The only thing is the auto shifting too soon to 4th. But that should not even be in the equation I'd think. Because I would expect a supposed 462hp car to be long gone by 4th! Hell even if I was making 300rwhp I'd expect that! Like a stock GT with tune and intake. Against this IS350 anyway.

What say you? Dyno tuning time? And who should I see here in SOCAL?

Sounds like your shift points are not optimally calibrated.
