I Think My Clutch is Going Bad. It's Making Noises. Got Some ?'s.

Sounds like your clutch, I am having similar problems right now but mine isnt totally shot not yet at least. Im not experienced at all with drivetrain problems though. Surprising you would have these kinds of problems with 15,000 miles on your car. You just got the car that was assembeled by the drunk blind guy at ford.

If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.

Lemoning a car isn't the easiest thing in the world ya know. It's not like I walk in and tell them the problems and they say "Ok, pick out a new car".

So damned true. Getting anything close to satisfaction is a big PITA when so much goes wrong.

ford replaced my throwout bearing under warranty after 20k on my 01 cobra.I hated to get rid of the car, but I think it probably had the same signatures yours has.Quality was pathetic.Every day I found a new problem.It wasn't so much that they wouldn't fix it, it was the hassle of taking it in twice a month. I didn't pay 30K for a car that was thrown together.I have a GT now, and haven't had a single problem.Good luck with your car

I can't offer advice on the clutch but i'm curious as to your stalling problem?

LOL! Welcome to club, Gene! Sounds like the TOB or the pilot bearing. As you know, mine has been in the process of dying since I got the car. Mine mainly makes the noises when it's cold, after it warms up, it either goes away completely, or only does it after running the car hard. I figured the thing would go out completely, kinda like Curts did, but so far it still works!

Now if you go off and get a car other than a Mustang, who you gonna hang out with?

Yeah, it seems the more and more I drive it, the more problems I find. And I agree 100% with you.....it's just the hassle of dealing with it and taking it in all of the time. That's why I buy NEW cars, so I don't have to worry about fixing it.

It's just a common problem with 03 Cobra's. When coasting in neutral, sometimes the cars will stall. I've almost gotten in an accident because of it one time. But apparently Ford just came out with a fix for it about a week ago.

Yeah, I think it is the TOB. I only heard the one noise today, opposed to the three noises yesterday. The noise I heard today was the rapid chirping when I push the clutch in slightly. I think I am going to take my car in one day early next week.....at a local dealership. I want my foglight replaced asap and more importantly, I want to get these problems on file.

Luckily, I haven't had it happen in awhile now. But it's happened I'd say about 6 times in the the past.

I don't think the cold temps have anything to do with it.

Well the chirping noise came back again tonight. It was really loud this time. And the clutch pedal got really light when it was making the noise. But after 10 minutes, it went away.

WTF? I'll be taking it to Ford this week.
