Just bought a 5 spd 5.0 last week and had it on the highway for the first time tonight. my speedometer showed 65 and it was doing 2k in 5th.....i was told the gears were stock, does this seem right? is there anyway to tell besides taking off the rearend cover and counting?

To actually describe the process, you would jack up the rear end. Mark the bottom of the tire and the bottom of the driveshaft (DS). then rotate the wheel one revolution and while doing so, count the number of DS revolutions. If you get ~2.75 DS revolutions per one wheel revolution, that is 2.73's. 3.5 turns would be 3.55's and so on.

Good luck.

this is an old chart I have had for years.
