i want 4 more cylinders!

I drive a 1987 TurboCoupe, and (SSHHHH!!) i want 4 more cylinders. I am only thinking about it...
does anyone know these details:

Is the TC T-5 the correct input shaft and spline for a 302?

Is the bell housing the same for the 302?

Basically, could i swap the engine, while keepin my same tranny?

I am considering converting to a less technological advanced motor (less things to break!). A 5.0 carburated motor. Would i be able to use my same fuel pump, or would i need less pressure?

Lastly, if i did this...does anyone want my 2.3turbo?

Maybe I misunderstood your point. Are you going to try to fit 2 2.3s in there? cause I don't think that will work.
He needs to mount the other 2.3 in the trunk.
Bam, problem solved.

Oh for the record, if you want to run the EFI pump with a carb, stock up on Needles&seats,Floats, Gaskets etc etc etc....

Input shaft will not work without heavy modification. The V8 input shaft is larger I do believe. I'd imagine that the bell housing wouldn't work either, you'd want to go with a 5.0 bellhousing. And lastly, you do know that 2.3 turbo's probably make just as much if not more hp then a carbeurated 5.0 right? So, if you want to do this swap, then your gas and insurance bills will double and you wont go any faster and you may even go slower with a carbed v8 swap.

I am not sure what the actual major blowout would be, but a logical chain of events would be that the needle and seat would blow out and not be able to stop the fuel flow. With there being no return line or regualtor the floats would then get blown apart as the bowls filled up beyond capacity. It would be shooting fuel out of the chamber vent, But I have a feeling it would still blow out all of the seals in the carb including the power valve, and rupture the accelerator pump diaphram.
It would be a fun experiment, but not on my car LOL

Oh and as far as a 302-2.3 swap, pretty easy really.
Fuel lines have to be changed to come out on the driver's side, You can re-pin the 5.0 harness for the 2.3, pair down the Injector harness from the 5.0 for the 2.3.
I went thru it on a local Kids 89 lx 5.0, he bought it with no engine, and I sold him/installed a 2.3t.
I used the 89 harness, Just worked out easier that way and used the MAF wires for the vam. I think tyhe hardets part was swapping the tach out :D
