I want the perfect hood scoop!

Ok, i know that i need something to make that plain jane hood on my 05 gt look more aggressive, but what! Im spending way to much $$ on the car right now and would really love to buy a complete hood but its just not an option right now. Im having stripes painted on the car in a few months and i figured id rather have a hood scoop on the car than leave it plain. Especially with the stripes, at least untill i can afford the entire hood. My problem is theres so many differnt kinds. Most of which look fake as hell!. I want something super aggressive but not something so huge that i cant see when im driving! I like the b9 but it seems huge and i cant really tell if it flows right. And the boss 429 has the right width, but doesnt sem high enough. Roush is too small! isnt there a happy medium? Thanks! by the way...the car is torch red and im doing gloss white stripes.

CDC Shaker?

What kind of look are you going for? Other than the Shaker, any other scoop and you'll probably be disappointed and eventually go with a new hood, anyway. So if you don't want the shaker, just wait and get the hood you want. Or, you could get the hood you want and forgo the stripes. Everyone has stripes, and this way you'll have the hood you want. Stripes can come later. You could do vinyl stripes from BSM to tide you over until you can save up to have them painted. But I would go with the hood first.

I was going to go for a fake scoop - but I am definetly going to get an entire new hood instead. It just looks so much better!

I would also wait on the stripes. I have a 2007 GT, torch red, and initially really wanted white stripes. I am so glad now I did not get them. I like a subtle look (if that is possible with red) better. I have the factory hood scoop.

I have the stock hood scoop and tungstein stripes. I LOVE the way it looks. However the KR hood is SICK......

One of the hoods I like is the Foose '69 hood.

It's aluminum like the factory hood so is pricey. It is the exact style as the B9, but comes either cut for a scoop/shaker or uncut. To me, it adds charachter without being huge and in the way. I agree as far as getting vinyl to see if you can live with the look. Granted you may pay more going vinyl then paint, but at least you can peel the vinyl off if/when the look no longer pleases you.

That's the hood I'm planning on getting. Hopefully I'll be able to get it in 2008. That hood with shaker and satin black on most of the hood, mated with a CDC classic chin spoiler (painted body color on the sides and satin black in the middle) is what I want to get done for appearance next year, along with tint and the GT/CS rear bumper and wheels. Crap... That's a lot of money!

i was always a big fan of the steeda cowl hood myself but i think you need hood pins for it and that would be a deal breaker for me

I want to get the Steeda cowl hood for mine...one year I don't believe you need hood pins with it, but sure is added safety against it coming open at speed. I will do hood pins as well

+1 for Steeda Hood, I am going with theSteeda Race hood and hood pins. I looked at many other hoods but the Steeda Hood is the one I like.

got o cervinis.com and find the Concept hood (which is what the California Drem is based on) you can get the kit later that makes it functional..... buy from cervinis directly price is usually cheaper.
