In excellent condition, a '96 Cobra coupe has a private party sale value of $7155 (according to KBB.com). I wouldn't say that gears and full exhaust are worth a $1000 increase in sale price.

Hmm. I must have been extremely lucky, because I picked up my 01 GT for 8k, and it only had a cracked front bumper cover and grille. Had 58k on the clock too.

The price is ok depending on what shape the car is in, offer $7k see if he bites. As long as the exhaust is not mac that guy saved you a ton of work and money by already doing the basic mods.

usually a modded car has been beaten up more than an unmodded car, and $8k is way too much for a car with nearly 100k miles on it. trust me. before my 03, i bought a modded 96 GT with 90k miles and it was a HUGE mistake

i got my 96 for like $1500 that and it had less milage plus was in exellente condition (lady was afraid of the rain, kept in garage), but it was stock and not a cobra. I say stockers FTW; making the car yours it why we buy these cars
