went to the track.... weather wasnt to nice. 60s 75% humidity low pressure

first pass I didnt give enough throttle and bogged to a 1.98
13.3 at 104.xx

the next pass I gripped it and ripped it. Car just tore out of the hole spinning at 5 grand and fighting for traction... all while getting out of the hole very well though. it eventual hooks and just shoots to 6k- shift

result was a 1.89 and 13.10 at 105.xx

other pass was a 1.86... but I ran out of gas and it hickupped....strange I 3 passes earlier i just added a gallon. I guess it went fast :D

now I am launching WOT

do yall think I am launching too hard? or do i need to play with pressure. it was at 13.5 psi hot. could it have been the track prep? I heard it was bad that night.

I will try my luck saturday at the turbo mustang shootout. I am running in it i think.

There is no such thing as launching too hard, your tire pressure was too high. Let 'em down to 11 psi or so and try again. Rev her to 6k and dump it. Are you overheating the tires? How long of a burnout are you doing.

you thinking I might be heating them up too much? hmmm describe an ideal burnout for them if you could lots of smoke... just when smoke appears? etc etc

I am running 305/40/16 M&H racemaster musclecar tires.... suposedly stickier than et streets

and are the same size as my roomates 11.5 et streets

shameless picture plug :D

what tires are you using 95snoozer? Those WOT launches sound bad ass. I want to get some ET's so I can launch at 5k.

maybe I can get a vid.... it looks and feels like it leave haredr than hell, but I cut the same 60s on nittos, but that launch feels weak

Nice times!!! You may want to look into a set of double adjustable uppers to control DS angle. With the stock suspension and such a hard launch, it sounds like the car is unloading on you. Next time out on a prepped track, try a lower air pressure like Joe said. Then try a little lower launch rpm if the air pressure and track prep do not help.

Good luck, you're very close!

no powershifting whatsoever. I was actually shifting like a grandma because the launch caught me off guard

saturday is the turbo mustang shootout, so the track will be prepped very very well. as apposed to the wednesday test n tune

I will try dropping the pressure and maybe launching closer to peak torque

and if I get a few hundredths off... maybe I will power'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me' a gear or 2

whatever I do, it better run 12s in street trim :-D

wth.... when you type
""power shift" as one word, you get .....

power'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'

power'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'

EDIT: i spelled it p-o-w-e-r-s-h-*-t :rlaugh:

thast too funny to edit

Snoozer - I wouldn't do a very smokey burnout. Try just hazing the tires until they first start to smoke. Are you doing it in second gear? Try doing all of that with a little less air pressure and see what happens.
