I recently purchased an '06 Tungsten Gray GT. I had it detailed at a local Ford dealership since the dealer that I had picked it up from hadn't touched the car. After having the engine bay detailed the rpm's are surging when coming to a stop with the AC on.

Is this an IAC issue? Seems to me that it is sticking closed...

If so, could this have been caused by using water on the engine bay during the detail???

Sounds to me like it could be the IAC, since a lot of times this part will not turn on the Check Engine Light.

These cars don't have an idle air control valve, the idle is regulated by the PCM and electronic throttle. Is the car doing any other wierd things?

Since there is no iac, what is the mechanism off of the passenger side of the throttle body...tps???

The only issue was a surging and dropping idle speed when the AC was on...the rpms would surge to 1200 and drop to 400 and the car would nearly die.

I removed that part and cleaned it as well as the throttle body and now the rpm's are hanging at 2000 and again at 1200. The throttle is sticking bad enough that you have to fully engage the clutch to stop (no downshifting) and the car will pull itself down the road at 2000 rpms w/ no assistance or drop in speed.
