I have been having a hanging idle issue, after searching the forms and reading it seems that the issue is the IAC allowing too much air inside of the engine. I have heard of plenty people buying the IAC plate. But was wondering about making it myself? I have thrown the idea around because I would like to drive my car sooner rather than later. The thickness generally used is 1/32" that I cannot seem to find anywhere around me. But I do have access to shim stock of .005", some stores around me have about .020" stock, and another had .050". Does the stock thickness really matter? Will .005" thick shim stock (brass) work just as well as .032" aluminum?
