I'm looking to replace my IAC valve because my car has been idling erratically. I called the Ford parts dept. and found that they want $108 for it. I've found off-namebrand versions on ebay for about 1/2 that price. Has anybody ever bought a replacement, and if so, did you go with an off-namebrand.

I'm having a hard time forking over $108 when I'm not even sure that's the problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Used them before and they were great to deal with.

Motorcraft IAC - $64.

Might as well pick up a EGR too since that sometimes can mess with your idle. Also have you cleaned your MAF and done a seafoam treatment lately?

****en word. i had issues like a week after purchasing my 02 GT and took the car back to the used dealership, the mechanic took the iac off, sprayed it down, stuck it back in, and it was good to go. in the 2 years of ownership it never once gave me any more issues.

id also get some electronics cleaner and spray down the maf. hell, run a half bottle of seafoam through the motor and change the plugs afterwards.
