IAT and supercharging

ok, i am in the process of putting on a FMIC this winter and i am thinking that i should put my IAT sensor after the intercooler. Am I correct in this thinking or not? :shrug: that would give me the most accurate air charge reading going into the engine i believe. Where are you guys putting them? :SNSign:
 
You want the IAT reading the air that's going to enter the throttle body, so yes... after blower after inter/after coolers.

Mines installed into the connector tubing between my outlet on my S/C and the inlet pipe.
 
Mine is installed where the EGR used to be. Its actually a 9/16" hole. Perfect for threading a 3/8 NPT hole for the threaded IAT. Its screwed right into the plenum. It reads ecactly what is going into the motor. I had to maching about 3/8" off the plenum to get the sensor deep enough. Its perfect now.

You can see where I had to cut down on the plenum. Some work with a cutoff wheel and a file made quick work. This enables the sensor to reach the air stream. I left about 3/4" of material for the threads. Maybe a little bit more. Nothing exact. I bought the tap for about $8 from a local builder supply store. This is on a C&L plenum, others, I don't know, but shouldn't be too much different. I did have to open up the casting just a hair on the inside so the tap would go all the way though. After that, it went right though. Not a lot of work, I didn't want to have a bung welded to the pipes, people want too much money for the welding and the bung it self. Especially aluminum. Sticking it in the coupler seems to cheezy for me.
