I went down to the Fire station to work on a motor for a friend. Then it started to have freezing rain.

Odot shut down I5 from mile post 129 until mile post 170. It was a total mess. there were at least 15 wrecks that were called in to 911. And that is just in the short stretch of freeway that is in my fire district.

I dont know how far north it is going, but it hit eugene.

It was all freezing rain this morning. The MVA calls were stacking up.

People are really dumb. Its below freezing out, and its raining. Who would think to slow down?

Its warmed up, but there is still a good half inch of ice in some spots, and its supposed to re freeze tonight, then rain again in the morning.

Hopefully its warmed up enough to snow by the time it hits you guy's up north.

when I was going down I5 to a 3 car mva, I saw a guy behind me go sideways and was able to correct. the look on his face was pretty good.

Then two minutes later I saw a guy at the mva that I was heading to slip and fall on his ass in the middle of I5 southbound.

Alot of holiday travel today. Most of the plates in the ditch were from our southern neighbors, plus some from washington.

Of course Oregonians in this area drive like poo in the slick stuff also.

It's fun out there right now, but when the freezing rain gets here, even the Suby is staying inside.

my neighbor said that his wife is stuck on the exit for the road that goes to PDX. I guess traffic is stuck until the gravel truck gets there.

tomorrow should be interesting. Its 33* out and really wet.

Bad weather makes me happy for some reason.

I like this weather too. Less traffic, and driving becomes a challenge.

Got some good pics on my website today of various towns in Western washington county.

Crazy stuff. Not much snow, but icy as all heck.

looks like you got it worse than I did down south.

except the roads up there actually look icy, Down here they looked wet.

Wish we would get some snow.

we got like 3/4'' of snow that turned to ice about 3 hours later.

Lucky!

There was a half inch of freezing rain that lasted maybe 4 hours. With intermittent icy spots on the roads.

I think It caught everyone on I5 by surprise. Even though common sense should of told them that cold+rain=bad.

Looks like the Portland area is going to be fairly slick until Tuesday. My wife was supposed to drive up in the morning with my boy. I guess that trip will be postponed.
