I'd recommend getting it powdercoated. Looks great and easy to keep clean. I think I paid a little under $100 to get it done.

I say keep the chrome ponys and sell the other wheels. I love the look of ponys

Wow that does look sweet! Powdercoated black or something on mine would look pretty badass. Maybe some time I'll take off the upper and lower and some other parts and have them all coated.

I hear a lot of people that think I should keep the pony's. I think they look good and would look sweet on the black car. Part of the reason I'd look to sell them is that they're brand spanking new and could fetch a little more. Plus they're only 16" and I really like the size tire and size of the 17's I have on it.

I've heard a lot of good things about Zaino too. I'm sure I'll go all out on it this spring with a many step process that'll take 2 days! Usually on my regular cars I'll wash, clay bar, wash again, use a clear coat cleaner, use a polish, then wax.

Those SC's are pretty cheap for Foxes. Heck even with all the other parts it wouldn't cost over 3k I bet. That's a lot of power for the price.

Here's a pic that kinda compares the pony's to the cobra's.

Did a couple things today. I have some extra rods laying around so I thought I would use them as test pieces.

Mirror Red

Wrinkle red which is really hard to get to show up well in pics

Ultimate Chrome Different chrome than I have used in other pics. This one is really shiny.

Another Ult chrome, I'm sure in the sunlight it will look really impressive

All three together

This is a dormant granny apple which in person looks really cool

This is dormant blue and it looks AMAZING in person. The pic does not do it justice in the least bit. I would say it looks pretty close to Sonic blue.

For all you 2v guys here is a set of plastic valve cover. It took me a second try but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. The color is bonded and extruded chrome. All I can say is this plastic is some tough stuff.

When I was looking into getting my intake done, every powdercoater I talked to recommended against going with any type of chrome powdercoat. They all said it didn't hold up well and turned to a dirty grey over time.

Also, looking at that pic reinforces my opinion. Keep the ponys. They look great!

I'll have to give it some thought. I like the chrome, but not sure I like how much wheel there is to them. I like the skinny 5 point shape of the others. Perhaps sell them all and get chrome cobra R's!

Considering I live right south of Cincy in KY.....anywhere in OH is UP there not DOWN there

Assuming my ride is running by then, I'll be there. Still waiting on my activation for StangBangerz then I'll post a newb thread.

That powdercoating looks awesome! It would be nice to get a bunch of stuff done, but probably cheaper just powder coating some of the engine stuff and just rattle can'ing some of my rusty suspension components.

When you detail it, you owe it to yourself to use zaino. Especially with a black car. I did my wifes mercedes with 3 coats of z2 pro/zfx with spraywax inbetween and when done, it reflected everything perfectly. You could basically read your license in it. I don't think long tubes will give you enough of a gain to make it worth it unless you just want a different sound. Get the blower! It will make it like a new car again. Looks like summit is almost giving away sq trims and you can always find s trims used.[/QUOTE]

PM me with where you had ur powder coating done..

Oh and you can get SC trims brand new from Superchargers4less for like 1400

LTs are a great place to start. BBKs aren't cheap but they have very good quality and will slip right in without lifting the motor. You will have to take a lot of other parts out of the way and getting the car on a lift is a big help (on one side, I can't remember which, you have to come in from the bottom.

For the wheel, I love the ponies, but if you're going to do brakes, a nice set of crossdrilled and slotted rotors behind a Cobra R or similar wheel looks incredible to me.

I have a buddy who is a master mechanic at a shop and could probably get me some lift time after hours or something. I heard a lot of good things about the BBK's. Probably wouldn't give me much power, but the sound along with my cam and OR prochamber and dumps would probably be pretty nice!

That's probably part of why I like the Cobra R's since I have the slotted discs up front and all the calipers have been painted red. Although the rotors need to be bigger! Bigger is better! If I ever go 5 lug I'd be drooling over some FR500's or some Saleens tho.

Im wit ya on the BBK LTs i love the sound i gotta admit im a little dissapointed with a little bit of pitting not far off the motor right in the line of sight most people think its not to bad. But rick rnh perf. is getting ready to install my 331 stroker and i went all out with powdercoating billet and chrome, right now the headers are gonna be my weak link, BTW anybody out there know a good place to have the ceramic coating redone in central PA?. And as for rims i wouldn't trade my 95 cobra rims for any other!
