idle air control adjustment spacer?

All it did was cover another problem that probably could of been fixed for around the same 40 bucks as that thing costs, difference is that the real problem with your car still exists.

The real problem was getting a decent idle with the E303 cam and the AOD, which was fixed by the spacer.

People have been getting cars with much wilder cams than an E to run right without the spacer for 15 years now.
No offense, but still as i said, your problem was elseware.

F2PZ-9F939-A @ the dealer $37.63. Do everything you can to try to fix the problem first. If nothing works then get the iac adjuster plate. After my 347 install my car wouldn't idle at all. We went through everything and then i put that on and its been good ever since.

o btw Ford did make it for a reason.....it was a band aid....that was straight from the dealers mouth.

Well IMO bandaid or not, it fixed mine completely as soon as it was installed. In my case it was worth the $16.00 spent. Mine was a 1986 GT that had the idle surge for the 1st 4yr I owned it. The last 2yrs I had the spacer and no more idle issues.
Everyone says the issue is elsewhere????? Then please tell us where? This has been an issue for a long time.
Now for the original poster I do believe Ford still carries the part to correct your idle issue. $40.00 is minimun to pay to not have that agrevating issue.
Good thing my 93 has no idle issue @ this time. Then again it's still under 50k miles. :)

Elsewhere:
Vacumm leak
TPS
IAC
Exhaust leak

I had all of those checked by a few different shops, they could not find anything wrong.

Reading through the threads, these worked for others:

new IAC
larger fuel pump
larger maf
adjusting the idle at the tb screw to get idle around 900 to 1000
