idle help needed

I have a 95 convert. with a 95 Mark VIII 4.6 4V in it. Out of nowhere my idle will become very irratic. dropping to as low as 400 RPM then bouncing back to 1200. Also when I accelerate there seems to be a second where I lose power. then it picks back up. both problems started at about the same time and only happen occasionally. anyone with any ideals on whats going on.

The motor is stock except for BBK longtubes and a Diablo chip.
both were installed months before the problem started

No.but I will in the morning.would that effect my acceleration as well. both problems are somehow linked

Yes, it could be the cause of the "flat spot" in acceleration. Is your car running rich. The computer senses more air from the malfunctioning IAC so it sends more fuel to the engine flooding it.

p.s. IAC valves are notorious for going bad
