Q. When I turn on the heat in my mustang I notice the RPMs fluxuate up & down. At first I thought it was the result of me installing a TB, Plenum,& CAI in my 00' GT. Yesturday I noticed that as soon as I turned on the heat (Not AC) the RPM began to change up and down right away. Does anyone know the cause of this? I don't have a check engine light on or anything. Also when the system is on the RPMs hang and drop slowly. It does not do this with the Heat off. I was going to buy one of those restrictor plates but now I am not sure. I do not understand why the heat would effect the RPMs of my motor? The AC I could understand but not the heat. It has been doing this for some time now but when I added a new TB (MAC) and Plenum (ACCUFAB) it became really noticable.

Anyone know the cause & solution to this problem?

Thaks all

The air conditioner compressor runs in more modes than you think. Low freon will make the compressor cycle on and off which makes the idle fluctuate. Check yer freon...
